Google Educator Level 1 Virtual Bootcamps
Couse Overview
In this course, you will learn the skills needed to take and pass the Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam.
This course is designed to support teachers and educators on their journey to earning the Google Certified Educator Level 1 qualification.
This course is designed to run alongside the the Google Educator Level 1 Fundamentals Training in the Google for Education Teacher Centre.
The course covers the basics of Google's Chrome browser, Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Groups, Slides, Forms, Sheets, Sites, Classroom, Drawings, and Meet.
Each training session will guide you through the use of a particular set of Google tools and is followed by a short quiz to check your knowledge and understanding of how the tools can be used.
After completing the course and the Google Fundamentals Training, you will be in a position to take the Google Educator Level 1 exam.
All lessons will be recorded and added to your Bootcamp site, along with additional resources.
Session 1 - Google Drive and Google Docs
Main Session Focus: Google Drive management and folder sharing, Google Doc creation and collaboration.
Session 2 - Google Classroom and Google Chrome
Main Session Focus: Setting assignments marking and feedback in Google Classroom and the use of bookmarks in Google Chrome.
Session 3 - Gmail and Google Slides
Main Session Focus: Managing Gmail using labels and Gmail search and sharing and collaborating with Google Slides.
Session 4 - Google Calendar and Google Forms
Main Session Focus: Sharing of calendars and setting up events and Google Meet invites. Assessment and effective feedback using Google Forms.
Session 5 - Google Sites
Main Session Focus: Creation of sites for both sharing of resources and to enable independent student learning.
Session 6 - YouTube and Google Sheets
Main Session Focus: Sharing of videos and playlists in YouTube and record keeping in Google Sheets.
Session 7 - Google Groups and Google Drawing
Main Session Focus: Using Google Groups for collaboration and sharing and Google Drawings basic graphics editing.
Session 8 - Google Search and Google Meet and Jamboard
Main Session Focus: Google search criteria and tools, managing a Google Meet and Jamboard collaboration.
