Grading

Grades

Students’ grades will be determined by their performance on a series of projects and assessments. Each project and assessment will have an individual standards-based rubric measuring each student’s completion of 7th grade skills, history expectations, and/or GILLS.

4 = "I've got it, and MORE...."

3 = "I've got it!"

2 = "I've almost got it"

1 = "I don't have it yet...but I'm trying"

0 = "No effort"

Students’ rubric scores will be averaged at the end of the grading period. Here is the breakdown of rubric averages to grade equivalents:

A = 3.21-4.0

B = 2.41-3.2

C = 1.61-2.4

D = 0.81-1.6

F = 0.0-0.8

Request to Retest

After an assessment, students will be given a week to retest if they are not happy with the grade they earned. They must fill out a "request to retest" form and fill it out COMPLETELY and submit it with a scheduled date to come in. They may pick one up from class or print one as seen below.
