Kat Anderson
Organization
Hello! My name is Kat Anderson, I am a proud homeschooling Mom and avid planner and organizer. I have two amazing kids and two wonderful nephews (TK- 9th) who I homeschool. Having come from a homeschooling family myself, I always knew this would be the path our family would take. I realized very early on in this process how crucial good organization is to creating peace and relaxation in the day and to just keeping my sanity in general! Over the nine years I have been homeschooling, I've developed some tried and true methods for planning and organizing that I'm so happy to share with you!
Allison Millar
Time Management/ Scheduling
Hi, my name is Allison Millar. I am a mom of five, a pastor's wife, owner of Allison's Art Bus, and a professional overthinker. My husband, Lance, and I have graduated four out of five from Vista Oaks - four down, one to go! My favorite activities include drinking copious amounts of coffee, art, teaching our young dog new tricks, and schedules. With all of those kids and activities, I HAD to keep a tight schedule. So my husband and I developed an Excel workbook that makes keeping everyone on track a breeze, and we want to share it (and some methods for sticking to it) with you!

Heather Cazun
The Whole-Brain Child
Heather Cazun is a dedicated mother and homeschool educator to her insightful 8-year-old daughter, a journey that began in kindergarten. Inspired by the book, The Whole-Brain Child, gifted by her husband, she delved into the fascinating world of emotional intelligence and brain development. Over the past year, Heather has been exploring the transformative impact these concepts have on life and learning, emphasizing how awareness in these areas can lead to profound improvements in academic performance and personal well-being. Evolving from a teacher and advocate to an active practitioner, Heather finds great fulfillment in sharing and demonstrating the benefits of emotional intelligence in everyday life.
Heidi Meinecke-Smith
Growth Mindset
Hi, I’m Heidi! Homeschool mom of two amazing girls who have been learning at VOCS and navigating this wild and wonderful journey for almost a decade! You may have met me at on-site events, previous workshops, and/or hanging out on campus while waiting on kiddos.
Homeschooling has been quite the adventure, filled with laughter, challenges, and lots of growth. I've learned that a positive mindset can make all the difference. Life's too short to stress over every challenge. I try to see obstacles as opportunities for growth and learning and can't wait to share tips to stay positive.

Julia Booker
Field Trips
Hi! I’m Julia Booker 🙂 This is our 3rd full year (plus 6 months) of homeschooling our two boys (almost 7 and 9), and we currently have a 1.5 year old foster daughter. I am also an Educational Services Representative and Literacy Advocate for PaperPie through my business Booker’s Book Nook. Homeschooling sure wasn’t our plan, but I was never fully opposed to it. We realized about halfway through our oldest’s Kindergarten year that the traditional school system wasn’t going to work for him.

Julia continued...
We are a homeschool hardly ever at home kind of family. Our boys participate in various enrichment classes, extracurriculars, swim team, and our oldest has a full therapy schedule. Busy doesn’t even begin to describe our days. Being intentional with our time, staying organized, and listening to lots of educational podcasts in the car helps us feel successful on the go. Our family also loves to travel! AKA - field trips! Whether local, around the state, country, or beyond, we have discovered that homeschooling has resulted in us diving deeper into exploring and learning while on the go.
