Evidence Base Programs

The following classes are seasonal. Please refer to the calendar on the upcoming programs and event page of events for start dates, location and time information. For additional information or to sign up for classes please call the office at 646-486-4444.

Walking Warrior Club - Start of your day with stretching and a relaxing walk. Walk around the Chelsea area with your friends and our friendly volunteers in the mornings. You don't have to worry about being too slow or fast, everyone walks at their own speed. Each class will track the amount of steps you taken.

A Matter of Balance (AMOB) - Do you have bad balance or scared of falling? Then come Join this class to learn different fall prevention techniques and tips for better balance.

Tai Chi - Do you suffer from stiff joints and muscles? Join us for 10 week series on Tai Chi for Arthritis. Tai chi is a series of gentle movements which studies have shown to improve overall health and wellness.

Stay Active Independent Living (SAIL) - This 12 week physical exercise class is an evidence based program proven to help you be stronger, have better balance, feel better, stay active, stay independent and prevent falls.

Active Living Every Day (ALED) - Do you know you should get more exercise, but don't know how? Are you frustrated because you've started exercise programs before, but failed? If so, you're not alone. But there's good news. The ALED program can help you get back on track and stay there. ALED is an evidence based class, proven to help participants become and stay physically active. You will learn skills such as overcoming barriers to physical activity, setting realistic goals, building confidence and staying motivated.
