Violinist Emily Chia-Ying Lee is an active member of Bay area musical community. Recent collaborations include Russian Chamber Orchestra, Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera, Modesto Symphony Orchestra and Berkeley Symphony Orchestra. An active pedagogue, Ms. Lee is passionate about bringing the joy of music to students from diverse backgrounds. Current teaching engagements include the California conservatory of music. Ms. Lee began her studies in violin and piano at age seven. She obtained Master of music in Violin Performance at Michigan State University where she performed with MSU Symphony Orchestra, opera and a variety of other chamber ensembles. Moreover, she received the Verderber Memorial Violin scholarship from MSU. Outside of her endeavors at MSU, she was a member of Midland symphony orchestra, Adrien symphony orchestra in Michigan. Additionally, she has had the opportunity to perform at music festivals such as Walnut Hill music festival in Boston, Festival Napa Valley in California, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy in Canada.
