Jiayi Huang is a Chinese-born violist who has devoted his life to the pursuit of music. From a young age, he displayed an innate talent for the violin, which led him to enroll in the Wuhan Conservatory of Music Elementary School. There, he honed his skills and developed a passion for music that would ultimately shape his career.
After completing his studies, Jiayi wasted no time in pursuing his dream of becoming a professional musician. He joined the Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra as the Associate Principal Viola, where he performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world, including the Konzerthaus Berlin, Teatro Monumental, and Palacio de las Artes Reina Sofía.
In 2014, Jiayi made the move to the United States to continue his education and hone his craft even further. He studied with Jodi Levitz and Jay Liu at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, which helped him refine his skills and develop his unique style.
In 2015 Jiayi won the section position in the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. The following year, he was awarded tenure and served as the Acting Principal Viola for six seasons. During his time with the orchestra, he had the opportunity to perform with some of the world's most renowned classical musicians, including Lang Lang, Joshua Bell, Renee Fleming, and James Ehnes.
Aside from his performances, Jiayi is also passionate about sharing his love for music with the next generation. He coaches the Viola Section of the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra and is actively involved in promoting music education.
Currently, Jiayi plays with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, where he continues to showcase his exceptional skills and unique musical style. Additionally, he is building his own ensemble group, which is sure to provide even more opportunities for him to share his love for music with audiences around the world.
