Elvin Hsieh
B.M. University of California, Los Angeles
Elvin Hsieh is a classically trained violinist/violist, educator, and business professional whose multifaceted career reflects a deep passion for sharing music in all its forms. A Bay Area native, Elvin has studied violin extensively with faculty from major institutions such as Li Lin (The Juilliard School), Chen Zhao (SFCM), Ian Swensen (SFCM), Varty Manouelian (UCLA), and Movses Pogossian (UCLA). While at UCLA, he completed his Music Performance studies on a full scholarship and was awarded the Dean’s Medal for his achievements.
As a performer, Elvin has been loaned rare instruments, including a Stradivarius violin and Voirin bow used to perform as a featured soloist with the UCLA Philharmonia. He has served as concertmaster for multiple ensembles across California and toured internationally as both a violinist and violist. His performances as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player have taken him to renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Musikverein, and the Rudolfinum.
Today, Elvin is frequently invited to coach in youth orchestras, high schools, and elementary schools across the South Bay. He is also the Artistic Operations Manager with the Golden State Youth Orchestra, where he combines his artistic and administrative expertise to support the next generation of musicians.
