Ms. Sophia Chuang 莊淑棻

Sophia Chuang received a Master degree of Music in piano performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Bachelor degree of Arts from National Taiwan Normal University.
Ms. Chuang has performed as a soloist and accompanist more than 100 events extensively. These include the Recital Hall at Santa Clara University and San Francisco State University, Taipei National Concert Hall, Taipei National Theater, Taipei National Recital Hall, and other venues in the San Francisco Bay Area, Cleveland, Taiwan, China and Japan. Ms. Chuang often collaborates with other musicians. She was invited to record the works of the Taiwanese composers Tyzen Hsiao, Shang-Jen Chien, Chihjen Cheng and the Chinese composer Henry Jen. She was the pianist for opera rehearsals under the production of the renowned Taiwanese opera director Dau-Hsiong Tseng. She also performed regularly as an accompanist for several reputable choruses.
Ms. Chuang has also worked extensively in music education, including as a piano instructor for the talented young musician program in Taiwan, and as a music teacher at the middle and high school levels. She is trained in a variety of pedagogical styles including Suzuki, Orff, and Kodaly, and has been applying her experience in teaching. She is the member of National Guild of Piano Teachers, the Chinese Teachers Association in Northern California. In addition to holding her private piano studio in the Bay Area, she also regularly performs and coaches with singers and instrumentalists for recitals, competitions, and exams. She is the part time faculty of Virtuoso Academy of Music, as well as the piano accompanist at Zen Choir of Sunnyvale.
