Advanced Placement Environmental Science(APES) is a year long course that is equivalent to a one semester college level Environmental Science course. Students will be expected to take the Advanced Placement Environmental Science exam in May.
This course discusses scientific concepts and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world, identify and analyze environmental problems both natural and human made, evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems, and examine solutions.
Many sciences are important to environmental science. These include Biology, Ecology, Geology, Hydrology, Climatology, Meteorology and Oceanography. Students will also learn about environmental history and environmental regulation and laws.
