Earth Science

This unit serves as an introduction to the course. Students will learn about the size and shape of the Earth as well as different spheres within our planet which are based on density differences. Navigation using the star Polaris is introduced as well as many major New York State cities, towns and landmarks.

This unit dives right into how three dimensions of Earth are represented in two dimensions on a topographic map.

This comprehensive unit focuses on rocks and their ingredients, minerals. Students learn about the process that forms each type of rock and mineral, how to identify and classify different samples as well as be able to use the charts related to this topic in the Earth science
