Program Goals

The ENL (English as a New Language) Program in Lakeland Central School provides stand-alone and integrated/co-teach ENL classes in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade for beginner, intermediate and advanced English Language Learners (ELLs). The ENL Program strives to give students the social and academic language skills they need to be successful both in school and in the greater community. Through meaningful and purposeful activities, ELLs explore ideas and concepts to build vocabulary and strong literacy skills. ELLs at all levels of English proficiency engage in standards-based tasks that build on their academic, language, and cultural experiences.
