My Philosophy

Mission:

Business Education is an integral part of the total education program. Its mission is to develop and apply the use of technology, business and economic concepts, and legal principles essential for all persons. Business Education teaches the necessary skills for entry-level employment and post-secondary education. The Viroqua Business Department recognizes that our business society is forever changing. Advancements in technology are evolving at an amazing rate in both the areas of existing technology and in the creation of new technologies. The Business Education Department offers a curriculum designed to prepare students for those life skills that will be utilized at Viroqua High School, in future academic endeavors, as well as, to provide the foundation of those everyday living skills that will make them successful functioning members of society.

Goals:

• To educate individuals for and about business

• To provide opportunities for non-business students to acquire business knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to function effectively in their careers

• To provide career information which will help students relate their interests, needs, and abilities to occupational opportunities in business

• To provide occupational preparation for students entering the work force upon completion of high school

• To provide courses which should be accepted as meeting specific general education for high school graduation

• To provide courses which should be recognized as appropriate electives for the college-bound student
