In line with the Decret 175/2022, the role of foreign languages in education is fundamental for preparing students for a globalized world. It goes beyond simple grammar and vocabulary, as its main objective is to develop students' plurilingual competence—the ability to effectively use multiple languages for learning and communication. In a culturally diverse society, knowing a foreign language is crucial for intercultural dialogue, a key component of a democratic culture. This skill also removes geographical barriers, facilitating access to higher education, professional training, and international mobility. Ultimately, learning a foreign language broadens students' horizons by allowing them to discover and understand other cultures, thereby preparing them to be active and engaged citizens in an interconnected and multicultural world.
