I build the bridge between
the client who needs to create a course
and the learner who takes it.
Since earning my bachelor’s degree in English and a Certificate in eLearning Instructional Design, I know what it takes to create an engaging and effective learning experience for adults. My technical writing skills originate from my 10+ years of technical writing experience. My presentation skills originate from Toastmasters, where I earned the ATM-Bronze distinction. I understand business goals and how to achieve them in the corporate world.
I am skilled at interviewing subject matter experts, performing needs analysis, and managing projects. I understand and apply graphic design principles, learning theory, and learning software, such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, and Vyond. I also have domain knowledge in the medical device, gas utility, automotive repair, and financial services industries.
Analysis
First, I host a kickoff meeting with the stakeholders and the subject matter experts. At this meeting, I conduct a needs analysis with the stakeholders to identify the need for training, the target audience, and learning goals.
Next, I conduct a job task analysis by interviewing and observing learners. I also conduct an action mapping session to identify the high-priority tasks.
Then, I conduct a learner analysis by interviewing learners to determine their background knowledge of the topic, their comfort with technology, and their accessibility needs.
After that, I conduct an Instructional Context Analysis by asking the subject matter experts about the instructional context the learners will be in when they take the e-learning course.
Lastly, I conduct a Performance Context Analysis by asking questions of the learners to discover the context they will be in (for example, in the field or in the office) when they apply what they have learned.
Design
First, I write a list of learner objectives based on Bloom's Taxonomy by using data from the task analysis and action map.
Then I write a course outline based on these objectives.
Next, I write an instructional design document and a project plan that includes a proposed timeline.
After that, I write a text-based storyboard based on the course outline. This storyboard includes knowledge checks and a final quiz. Before proceeding further, I get stakeholder approval of the text-based storyboard.
Next, I create an audio script for the narration in the course.
Then, I create a visual storyboard, which includes references to images, videos, and audio recordings. Before proceeding further, I get stakeholder approval of the visual storyboard.
After that, I create a style guide, a mood board, a wireframe, and visual mockups.
Development
First, I create a prototype to demonstrate the interactive flow of the course.
After getting approval of the prototype, I create the final course,
After getting approval of the final course, I deliver it to the LMS Administrator to be distributed.
Implementation
First, I create a Virtual Instructor-Led Guide for the facilitator of the e-learning course.
Then, I create the job aids for the learners.
After that, I create the course announcement to market the course and a pre-training assessment.
Evaluation
First, I create and distribute a post-training assessment.
Then, I create and distribute an employee satisfaction survey, a manager satisfaction survey, a stakeholder satisfaction survey, and a customer satisfaction survey.
Finally, I create a course KPI results document.
