Survey Camp 2026

Another successful Surveying Summer Camp wrapped up on June 5!

We had 11 campers (high school juniors and seniors) from around Indiana. 

Campers stayed on Vincennes campus for 3 days/2 nights in dorms, learned about surveying in our program lab areas, and enjoyed the university recreational facilities.  Campers were able to earn 1 college credit.

Activities included:

• Searching for monuments with reference sketches and metal detectors.

• Establishing control.

• Running level loops and cross sections.

• Using GPS and robots to collect measurements for a site plan.

• Manual drafting of a cross-section.

• CAD drafting of site plan measurements.

The camp was largely sponsored by generous donations from industry and campers were assisted throughout the activites by several industry volunteers.
