Don Robbins, Athletic Director

Mr. Robbins joined the Vineland High School Administrative Team as Athletic Director in 2007. Don earned his associates degree from Gloucester County College, his bachelors degree from Glassboro State College, and his masters degree from Wilmington University. After earning his bachelors degree, Don immediately became involved in coaching, over the years he has coached Boys Soccer, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, and Baseball. Mr. Robbins was an Assistant Coach with the 1993 Gloucester County College Baseball Team that recorded a record of 45-3 and won a NJCAA National Championship. Don went on to become the Head Baseball Coach at Sacred Heart High School where he coached teams to NJSIAA South Jersey Championships in 1998, 1999, and 2000. His 1999 and 2000 Baseball squads also went on to win the NJSIAA State Baseball Championship. In 1999 Don was named the Major League Scouting Bureau High School Baseball Coach of the Year. Don became the Athletic Director at Sacred Heart in the fall of 1998, a position that he held until 2001. Don accepted a position as a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Veterans Memorial School in Vineland in 2001. While teaching at Veterans Memorial Don Earned his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University. Mr. Robbins accepted the position of Athletic Director at Oakcrest High School in 2003. Don served as Athletic Director at Oakcrest until his appointment as Athletic Director at Vineland in 2007. Don is proud of the accomplishments of Vineland's Student-Athletes. Since his start Vineland High School has had many Student-Athletes sign National Letters of Intent to play their sport on the college level. Don was honored by the DAANJ as the South Jersey Athletic Director of the Year in 2015. Mr. Robbins is also particularly proud of the improvements to the Athletic Facilities that have occurred during his time at Vineland High School some of which include; the dedication of the Athletic Hall of Fame, reconstruction of the Track, reconstruction of the Tennis Facility, lighting for the Baseball and Practice Football Field, installing underground irrigation on the Field Hockey Field, and building a Weight Room facility. Mr. Robbins is confident that Vineland High School is poised for continuing academic and athletic success for years to come.

Kate Cronk, Field Hockey

Coach Cronk has been coaching for the Vineland High School Field Hockey Program since the summer of 2002.  She was a volunteer goalie coach and became an assistant coach in 2003  before earning the head coach position in 2004. Cronk is a 1999 Vineland High School Honors Graduate earning a varsity letter in each of her four years in field hockey, and 3 varsity letters in swimming and softball. She attended and graduated from Rowan University and earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics with a minor in Business Administration, she also obtained a Masters in Business Administration and a Master;s in School Leadership from Wilmington University..  Cronk has been  a Teacher of Business Education at Vineland High School for the past 17 years. She is a certified USA Field Hockey Coach, holds a Level 1 coaching certification and is a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.  During her tenure the field hockey team has made it to the payoffs 11 times. We have had numerous players go one to play at the collegiate level and continue to make our school and program proud. The goal of the field hockey team is to create young women who are caring and productive citizens within our communities, who understand hardwork and perseverance pay off.

Leslie Garton, Girls Soccer

Leslie Garton has been the Head Coach for the Vineland High School Girls Soccer program since June of 2018.  Her family history boasts a long line of soccer players, perhaps most influential, her grandfather, who played soccer in Germany and in the United States. 
Garton played travel ball all through Elementary and Middle School and went on to play all four years at Vineland Highschool.  She also played on the NJ State level having been selected to the South Jersey Select Team as a Goalkeeper.  She graduated from Vineland High School in 1996 and earned Varsity Letters in each of her four years of soccer. 
Garton has acquired a wealth of coaching experience coaching for the Vineland Soccer Association as a Recreational Coach, as well as a Travel Coach.  Since taking over the Head Coaching position at VHS her teams have improved upon their Season’s winning record in each of her first two seasons.    
In 2019, Garton’s VHS Girls Soccer program earned the South Jersey “Sportsmanship Award”, which is an award bestowed upon a Team for it’s exemplary display of “Sportsmanship” by the South Jersey State Soccer Officials Association.  Garton requires team members to always be good ambassadors of VHS.   
Garton graduated from Stockton University with a Psychology Degree with a minor in Education, specializing in Science.  She is currently a 6th grade Science teacher at Veterans Memorial Middle School in Vineland.  She lives in Vineland, with her husband of 20 years and her three children, Victoria, Henry and Gabriel.  

Joel Heider, Girls Cross Country

Coach Joel Heider has been the Girls Cross Country Coach since 1998. He is a Graduate of Gloucester County College in 1988 with an A.A. Degree in Health and Physical Education and Glassboro State University in 1992 with a B.A. Degree in Health and Physical Education in 1992. He began his teaching career at Vineland in 1994, as a Health and Physical Education Teacher. He is currently teaching at the Vineland H.S. North Campus.
Coach Heider started his Coaching Career at Vineland in 1994 with the Football team under Elliott Deshields. He has had experience Coaching the Winter Tack Teams, Spring Boys Track and Spring Girls Track Teams. Coach Heider has coached The Field Events for both Girls and Boys and Pole Vault for both Girls and Boys Teams.
In 1998, Coach Heider took over the Girls Cross Country Program and remains the Head Coach. During his time as the Girls XC Head Coach, coach Heider has led the way providing the XC Team with Guidance and the Importance of Family. The Teams’ Motto “Family First” truly has a deeper meaning for the VHS Girls’ XC Athletes.
In 2015, Coach Heider was nominated for the Brook’s Inspiring Daily Program sponsored by Brook’s Shoe Company located in Seattle Washington. Coach Heider was a National Finalist. His Team received a $2,500.00 Grant , which was used to purchase New Uniforms and Equipment for the Team. “ It was an Amazing Experience to be with so many Top Coaches from across the Country who Inspire their Student-Athletes Daily.
Coach Heider, Mentored under Charles Earling-Athletic Director at Washington Twp. High School in Gloucester Country. During his time at Twp. Coach Heider was able to acquire a wealth of experience by watching and learning from some of the Best Coaches in S.J., all of which helped him develop his own Coaching Philosophy.
Charles Earling is a Fantastic Person, who took a young man with no direction and guided him to the Coach he is today.

Jake Homiak, Wrestling

Coach Homiak has been coaching for the Vineland High School Wrestling Program since March of 2008.  He was a volunteer assistant and lead assistant within the program before becoming the head coach in 2018. Homiak was a 2003 Vineland High School Graduate earning a varsity letter in each of his four years in wrestling. He attended and graduated from York College of Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management.  Homiak was previously a Teacher of Business Education at Vineland High School for 7 years. He currently holds the same position at Cumberland County Technical School in Vineland, NJ.  During his time as either an assistant or head coach, the wrestling program has continually been able to advance multiple wrestlers into the regional and state tournaments. Our goal moving forward is to take young individuals and build  them into people who aspire to be great academics, wrestlers, and competitors in life. R&GFL

Scott Hubbard, Girls Track and Field

Scott Hubbard is the head coach of the VHS Girls Track & Field team and has coached at Vineland in various capacities since 1991.  He has acquired a wealth of experience in his coaching career, serving three years as head Cross Country coach at Gloucester County College, leading the Barons to a national junior college title and earning National Coach of the Year honors, while also completing a stint at Rowan as head weights coach for the Track & Field team and helping mentor two national championship squads and multiple All-Americans.  Since Coach Hubbard joined the staff at VHS, the Cross Country team has been one of the top teams in South Jersey multiple times and the Winter Track team has been one of the top in the state; Coach Hubbard notes the 2002 Sprint Medley team, which won consecutive national championships, as one of his most proudest memories as a coach.  Coach Hubbard also spent time with the VHS Girls Basketball team, helping the program produce three 1,000-point scorers.  Coach Hubbard says his time at Vineland has "given me great joy to work with these young students and watch them succeed in life."  He attended Cumberland Regional High School and graduated from Rowan University.

Vince Luciano, Boys & Girls Tennis

Coach Vincent Luciano has served in the position of both Assistant and Head coach for the boys and girls tennis team at VHS for the past 18 years. He has been a certified United States Tennis Teaching Professional since 2006. Coach Luciano has been a Special Education Teacher in our district since 2000.  Luciano began his coaching career as an assistant for the boy’s team in 2002.  He has been the head coach of the boy’s program for the last 6 years.  Luciano joined the girl’s tennis program in 2004 as an assistant. During his tenure, the boys and girls tennis teams have collectively earned  five CAL Titles, two SJ Sectional Titles and an Individual State Champion in 2017.  His philosophy is simple: “Only working as a team, can you complete the total educational and growth experience at Vineland High School and be a contributor to the community of Vineland.”

Kyle Jones, Baseball

Coach Kyle Jones was tabbed to take over direction of Vineland Baseball prior to the 2021 Spring Season.  Before that, Coach Jones spent 14 years as an assistant coach with the program, during which he was named to the NJ Top 100 Underclassmen Game Assistants and served as an assistant coach on the Tri-Cape Carpenter Cup team.  Coach Jones has also spent five years as an assistant coach with the VHS Cross Country team and previously served as assistant coach with VHS Softball (five years) and VHS football (seven years).  
Coach Jones graduated from Vineland High School in 1997 as a two-sport varsity letterwinner (football and baseball) before going on to play baseball for two years at Cumberland County College, which was nationally ranked in 1999.  From there, he moved on to West Chester University, where he was part of the baseball program and graduated in 2003 with a degree in Kinesiology.  Coach Jones is a physical education teacher at Memorial Intermediate School in Vineland.

Paul Myers, Boys Soccer & Boys Crew

Coach Paul Myers graduated from Rowan University in 2008, where he coached annually in their camps and was a graduate student coach for two years.  Mr. Myers played soccer for various clubs in New Jersey, with the majority of his career being played for Washington Township.  One of his best experiences was living in Costa Rica for three months and playing soccer against the local talent, while studying Spanish.  
Mr. Myers earned his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education & a BA in History, and certification in Special Education K-12.  After teaching for 8 years in Camden, NJ with Camden City Public Schools, Coach Myers returned to Rowan University to study Counseling.  Coach completed his clinical practice internship with Washington Township Public Schools and Camden City Schools, earning his Master's degree in Counseling in Educational Settings.  While a teacher and student school counselor, Mr. Myers coached boys' soccer at Camden Catholic High School & with the Camden Youth Soccer Club.  Mr. Myers served as the Varsity Assistant and Boys' Freshman coach for 4 years at Camden Catholic.  He continued to video tape and help with Rowan University Men's Soccer.  Coach worked as a coach at National Champion Soccer School under the leadership of Rowan University Soccer. Coach Myers has been the Head Coach of the VHS Boys' Soccer program since 2016 and is a school guidance counselor with Vineland High School & Vineland's Applied Math and Science Academy at Johnstone.
Coach Myers completed the Level 2 Certification under US Rowing.  Coach began leading the Vineland boy's crew team in 2018, learning under Chief Lou Tramontana and Dr. McCann.  His Novice 4 Boat was one of the most successful boats in the area, winning consecutive medals at some of the top regatta's in NJ & PA (including in the Garden State's.)  Some of Vineland Crew's Rowers have earned scholarships from Rutgers, UCONN, La Salle, Temple, Drexel, West Virginia, Georgetown, Stockton, USC, UCF, Clemson, Ohio State, among other successful collegiate programs.  Coach takes great pride in growing leaders and hard working student-athletes in Vineland Crew, with some of the hardest working young men and women in athletics.  It truly is a year-round commitment with Fall Crew, Winter training, and Spring Regatta racing season.  Every minute counts & Coach is humbled to be the head coach of the program!  Hard work has paid off with the program and the great leadership of a strong coaching staff.
Coach Myers has been married since 2016 to Erika, and they have two loving boys, Paul & Crew William.  He loves the support of his family and considers Vineland Athletics to be his extended family.

Mike Schneider, Girls Swimming

Mike Schneider has been at the helm of VHS Girls Swimming since July 2010.  He was a 2003 Vineland High School graduate, earning varsity letters all four years as a member of the boys swim team and serving as co-captain his senior year.  He went on to graduate from the University of Maryland in 2007, majoring in Journalism with a Sports Management minor.  He is a certified USA Swimming coach, holds a Level 3 performance certification from the American Swimming Coaches Association and is a coach member of the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association.  
During his tenure, Vineland has won at least one state tournament meet eight times, advancing to the Public A South semifinals in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2022 and 2023.  VHS won the South Jersey sectional title in 2011, advancing to the Public A State Final, and ended the year ranked 24th nationally in the NISCA Class 8 Dual Meet Power Point Rankings; the 200 free relay also won gold at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions that year and VHS swimmers have during Schneider's tenure notched 19 "Top 16" finishes at States.  Most recently, the Fighting Clan captured the 2022 Cape-Atlantic League National Conference title.  Schneider has coached four NISCA All-Americans, and was named Coach of the Year by the South Jersey Interscholastic Swimming Association in 2011, the South Jersey Times in 2015, and The Daily Journal in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015.  He was also nominated for SJISA Coach of the Year again in 2022. 
Schneider began his coaching career when he was 18 years old, leading the summer age group team at Capri Swim Club from 2003-05.  He also coached at Dolphin Swim Club from 2006-12 and spent three years as an assistant coach on the VHS Boys Swim Team (2008-10) prior to taking over the VHS Girls Swim Team.  He currently spends his summers coaching the age group team at Northwest Swim Club in Vineland, where he has coached since 2016.  He is an English Teacher at Vineland High School-North.
