1. Syllabus
Link: (25-26) Huynh Van Chinh Primary - Syllabus
SPECIAL NOTES: The syllabus is designed using the vocabulary, sentence structures, and chants from the book ‘Tiếng Anh Family and Friends 1’. Vinalearn teachers are not provided any books (Student book and Workbook) to prevent any clashes with the lessons covered and taught by the Vietnamese teachers.
REQUIREMENTS: Vinalearn teachers are expected to follow these guidelines:
- Practice and / or review the “Required Vocabulary” to ensure students remember and use the words accurately.
- Correct students’ pronunciation to ensure they pronounce the words correctly and as naturally as possible.
- Enhance students’ speaking skill using the sentence structures from the “Contents / Target Language”.
- For Phonics lesson, teachers can refer to the audio attached in the “Contents / Target Language”.
2. The important general notice for ESL teachers in this school. Please take note of the information below:
*Listening and speaking practice:
- Teachers are not allowed to use audio from videos or devices to instruct students. The school requires that teachers use their own voice to teach, especially during instruction and review sessions. (Using audio is acceptable for games and music only.)
- Pronunciation errors should also be corrected.
*Regarding interaction with students and collaboration with the co-teachers:
- Teachers are expected to take initiative in the classroom and should not rely on the school’s TA for translation or to choose students for activities.
- It is encouraged to use simple, clear commands, speak slowly, or use body language to help students understand naturally, especially for Grade 1 students.
- Teachers can repeat key commands to help students form habits.
- Teachers should move around the classroom, approach students, and give as many students as possible the chance to participate in the activities — not just stand at the front of the class.
*Regarding lesson plan:
- The school does not require weekly submission of lesson plans, but teachers must prepare their lesson plans in advance. The Vietnamese teachers will check the foreign teachers’ lesson plans at any time if needed.
- Teachers should have a clear understanding of the lesson content, design activities that align with the lesson focus, and ensure smooth transitions between activities to avoid any downtime.
3. Tests
There is no test. However, foreign teachers will help Vietnamese teachers with the speaking test if needed.
