Hello!  My name is Michaela Gauer and I have been teaching for 21 years!  I have had the opportunity to teach 5th grade, 4th grade, 3rd grade, and 2nd grade!  It has been so much fun working with different age groups and learning the expectations of each grade level.  I feel this helps me to prepare my students accordingly for the challenges ahead.  

My family and I moved to Terre Haute, IN, about fifteen years ago.  I am from Colorado and began my teaching career there.  I have a husband, Larry, and three children.  Nathan is a senior at Indiana University in Bloomington.  He loves being in college!  Caroline is going to be a sophomore at Indiana University in Bloomington.  Logan is a 4th grader this year at Lost Creek.  I love having the chance to see him in the hallways at school!  

I love reading books, fitness, and teaching.  I believe in fostering the love of reading in my students.  Reading is such an important life skill, and it can bring so much joy to people.  I feel blessed to be able to work with children and to help them become successful and happy people.
