Sasha - The Emperor
As the antagonist of the story, I always like to describe him as 'the worst individual the world has ever brought forth'. He is a deeply flawed, conflicted person, aware of his pitfalls, yet seemingly unable to escape them. So, he embraces what the world seems to want to make of him - a megalomaniacal puppeteer, the necessary evil.
Serena - The Fool
Serena, ahh, Serena. She is everything I idealized when I was 14, and (much like Sasha) I can never seem to let her go. She's the protagonist of the story. Her drive for justice and equality overshadow her consciousness of what's good for her, and boy, does the universe have a trip in store for her.
