On March 28, 2025, Myanmar was struck by a catastrophic 7.7-magnitude earthquake—the strongest in recent memory. Entire communities have been devastated. Homes, schools, hospitals, and vital infrastructure have collapsed. Thousands of lives have been lost, and many more are injured or missing. Families are sleeping out in the open, with no access to food, clean water, electricity, or medical aid.
The earthquake’s impact has been especially tragic because it struck during a time when the country was already in a deep crisis. Since the military coup in 2021, Myanmar has faced extreme political instability, widespread violence, and economic collapse. Millions have been displaced, and basic services like healthcare and education have become nearly impossible to access. The earthquake has only made an already dire situation even worse.
The Burmese people are incredibly resilient, but right now, they need help. Many affected areas are rural and hard to reach, meaning aid is slow to arrive or hasn’t reached them at all. Children, elders, and entire families are in urgent need of support—whether it's food, clean water, blankets, shelter, or medical supplies.
This is a moment for all of us—especially those of us living in safety and stability abroad—to stand in solidarity with the people of Myanmar. We cannot undo the damage that’s been done, but we can offer hope, love, and real help during this time of deep suffering.
In partnership with the United Zo Organization - USA (UZO - USA), Zo Youth Organization USA ( ZYOUSA) and Miss UZO 2024 - Cing Kim, the Zo Youth Organization of Georgia (ZYO - GA) has launched a campaign called the Emergency Earthquake Relief Fund (EERF) to assist earthquake victims in Myanmar. Through the EERF Campaign, our mission is to raise emergency funding to provide urgent aid to the people of Myanmar affected by the earthquake. Our focus is to help the victims get access to Clean Water, Food, and Medical Supplies. As many have lost their housing we want to offer them Emergency Shelter and Relief Services by supporting local efforts and trusted aid organizations working directly on the ground.
Through the EERF Campaign, we offer a sponsorship package for Companies or any individuals who are looking to donate. 100% of the money we receive through donations will go towards relief efforts in Myanmar. The sponsorship package is divided into three tiers: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Each tier offers different perks.
Real, urgent impact – 100% of proceeds go toward relief efforts in Myanmar.
Youth-led action – Your support empowers passionate young people to lead change.
Community visibility – Show your compassion and solidarity with a global humanitarian cause.
If the sponsorship package isn't the right fit for you, there are still many other ways to help. We have set up a GoFundMe page where you can donate any amount you're comfortable with. Another way to help is through social media. You can share our campaign posts, spread the word about our GoFundMe, and share our website. These are just a few additional ways you can make a difference. Small countries like Myanmar often don't receive much news coverage, and when they do, it fades quickly. By sharing information, you help raise awareness and keep the support going.
Speaking through word of mouth is an effective way to support the campaign. Tell your friends or inform others about the situation happening in Myanmar right now. Since Myanmar is a relatively small country that doesn’t receive as much attention, not many people are aware of the situations and events taking place there.
From the bottom of our hearts, the Zo Youth Organization of Georgia team thanks you for taking the time to read this, and we deeply appreciate any support you can offer.
