I am an Assistant Professor of Statistics at Grinnell College.

I recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a PhD in Biostatistics, advised by Dr. Julian Wolfson. My methodological research involves methods for sequential categorical data, particularly human activity sequences from mobile and wearable devices. (Think Fitbit, but so many types of data are surprisingly sequential and categorical in nature!) In addition, I maintain a strong interest in applied research collaboration across disciplines, including vaccine epidemiology, nutrition and cardiovascular diseases.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, watching tennis, and playing with my cat Trident (see bottom left). The banner picture was taken near Lake Superior in Northern Minnesota. My photo was taken at Leavenworth, WA in Dec. 2021.
