ZP HiFi privacy policy
ZP HiFi is a local-first music player. It does not require an account and does not upload your music library.
Device data
The app reads audio from Android MediaStore and folders you explicitly select. Track titles, artists, albums, filenames, paths, folder names, playlists, favorites, history, queue, lyrics, and artwork remain on the device. Folder access uses Android persistable read permission and can be revoked in system settings.
Optional diagnostics
Anonymous analytics and diagnostics are off by default. If you explicitly enable them, ZP HiFi may send an app-open event, closed engine result codes, coarse audio format/rate/depth/route categories, crash diagnostics, performance data, and automatically collected app/session and device/app information added by the Firebase SDKs. Remote Config, which may use a Firebase Installation ID, is fetched by product code only after this preference is enabled. Turning the preference off stops future app-initiated fetches but does not erase a value already activated locally or data already retained by Firebase. The app telemetry API does not accept track titles, artists, albums, filenames, paths, folder names, content URIs, raw engine messages, or arbitrary exception messages. Advertising identifiers and ad-personalization signals are disabled. Debug builds permanently disable collection. You can turn this preference off in Settings > Privacy.
Promotional notifications are a separate opt-in and use Firebase Cloud Messaging. When enabled, Firebase processes a Firebase Installation ID to register this app instance and subscribe it to product updates. Turning promotions off disables automatic registration and unregisters the app instance from FCM; it does not claim to delete the installation ID or records Firebase already retains. ZP HiFi product code does not log that identifier, add it to app telemetry, or copy it into app storage, while the Firebase SDK manages it as required by opted-in services. Promotions use a channel separate from playback controls. Playback controls are generated locally while media is active.
Google Play app updates
When ZP HiFi checks for or installs an app update, Google Play processes the device and app metadata needed to determine whether a compatible update is available and to deliver it. ZP HiFi receives update availability, version/priority, install status, and download progress. The app does not add music titles, artists, filenames, paths, playlists, or other library identity to the update request. Google Play update checks are separate from optional Firebase diagnostics and promotional notifications and continue to work when those preferences are off. A build not installed and owned by Google Play is shown as unavailable for Play updates rather than silently pretending to be current.
Retention and deletion
Local app data is removed when you clear app storage or uninstall ZP HiFi. Disabling a Firebase preference stops future app-side collection but does not automatically erase records already retained by Google. Firebase and Google Play retention/deletion are governed by the applicable production configuration and Google terms. Before publication, ZP Labs must add its legal entity/contact, effective date, public URL, regional disclosures, user-request/deletion contact, and verified retention periods.
