If you want a rugged, waterproof swimming companion that stores your music offline for endless pool sessions, choose ZOVIMAX Bone Conduction Headphones; if you need an all-in-one AI-powered recording and translation device for business or vlogging, choose sucegi E12.
ZOVIMAX Bone Conduction Headphones vs sucegi E12 at a Glance
• sucegi E12: Integrates a camera, voice recorder, and real-time AI translation with Bluetooth 6.0, though it is only IP65 rated and not designed for full submersion. Ideal for professionals, content creators, and travelers needing on-the-go recording tools.
• The Verdict: If your primary goal is for kids wireless safety during outdoor play or swimming without water damage, the ZOVIMAX wins on build quality. If you need advanced functionality like live translation or video capture, the sucegi E12 is the superior choice.
The ZOVIMAX X7 MAX is engineered specifically for those who refuse to let water stop their music or podcasts. Its most defining feature is the dual-mode capability: it operates seamlessly via Bluetooth 6.0 for land-based activities, but instantly switches to MP3 mode when submerged. This isn't just a splash-proof claim; the IPX8 rating means these headphones can handle full submersion up to 5 meters deep for as long as 2.5 hours. For a swimmer, this translates to zero anxiety about chlorine or saltwater damaging the electronics. You can take them into the deep end without fear, provided you switch to the internal MP3 mode since Bluetooth signals cannot travel through water.
For runners and cyclists, the open-ear design is a game-changer. The 14.2mm dynamic drivers deliver surprisingly rich bass and crisp highs, yet the bone conduction technology keeps your ear canals completely open. This allows you to hear traffic, other athletes, or nature sounds while enjoying your playlist. The silicone pads are skin-friendly and soft, ensuring they stay in place even during high-intensity intervals. The included adjustable strap adds another layer of security, making sure the device doesn't slip off during vigorous movement. With a battery life that supports up to 12 hours of continuous playback and fast magnetic charging that fills the pack in just two hours, you won't be tethered to a wall outlet between workouts.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
However, there are trade-offs to consider. The audio experience, while clear and immersive for its size, relies on vibration rather than traditional speakers. Some users might find the sound signature different from closed-back earbuds, especially regarding deep bass fidelity. Furthermore, the lack of active noise cancellation means you will hear every environmental noise around you, which is great for safety but less ideal for blocking out a noisy gym. Also, while the 8GB memory holds up to 2,000 songs, transferring files requires connecting to a computer, which might be a slight hurdle for those used to wireless-only ecosystems.
Who should skip this? If you are looking for a device that can record meetings, translate languages in real-time, or shoot video content, this unit does not have those capabilities. It is purely an audio and fitness tool, not a productivity gadget.
The sucegi E12 stands apart because it functions as much as a smart assistant as it does a pair of headphones. It combines a camera, a voice recorder, and bone conduction audio into a single, sleek black device. This 3-in-1 integration is perfect for the modern creator or business professional who wants to minimize gear. You can capture video footage directly from your ears, record meeting notes automatically, or engage in real-time translation powered by AI systems compatible with OpenAI and Tongyi Qianwen. The ability to wake the device with "Hi, Luma" and receive instant object recognition or language translation makes it a powerful tool for travelers and global communicators.
In terms of audio performance, the sucegi E12 utilizes a 10mm dynamic driver with a frequency response of 20 hertz. While slightly smaller than the ZOVIMAX, it still delivers clear sound suitable for calls and media consumption. The open-ear design uses aviation-grade silicone earhooks, ensuring a secure fit that doesn't block the ear canal. This is crucial for situational awareness during outdoor runs or busy office environments. The device supports Bluetooth 6.0 with a range of 33 feet, offering stable connectivity for your smartphone or laptop. Battery management is efficient here as well; a full charge takes just 1.5 hours and provides 10 hours of playback. A standout feature is the quick-charge capability: a mere 10-minute charge grants you an hour of listening time, which is invaluable when you are rushing out the door.
The protection rating is IP65, meaning it resists sweat, dust, and light rain. This makes it excellent for intense gym sessions or running in drizzle, but it is not built for swimming. Unlike the ZOVIMAX, you cannot submerge the sucegi E12 in water without risking damage. Additionally, the touch controls and voice command system offer a modern interface, allowing you to manage recordings and calls without touching your screen. The device weighs a lightweight 1.6 ounces, making it comfortable for extended wear, whether you are attending a long conference or documenting a day trip.
Who should skip this? If your primary activity involves swimming or being in wet environments where total waterproofing is non-negotiable, the IP65 rating is insufficient. Also, if you prefer a simple, no-frills audio experience without the complexity of AI integration or camera controls, this device might feel overly complicated for your needs.
When choosing between these two distinct devices, you must align your purchase with your specific lifestyle demands. The first major consideration is the environment in which you will use them most. If your routine includes frequent laps in a pool, ocean swims, or heavy rain exposure where submersion is possible, the ZOVIMAX is the only logical choice due to its IPX8 certification and internal storage. Conversely, if your day revolves around commuting, office work, hiking, or content creation where recording and translation are valuable, the sucegi E12 offers features the ZOVIMAX simply cannot match.
Another critical factor is the type of audio interaction you require. Do you need to listen to music offline without carrying a phone, or do you need to capture audio and video simultaneously? The ZOVIMAX excels at the former, offering a truly phone-free experience with 8GB of onboard memory. The sucegi E12 excels at the latter, acting as a portable studio and translator. Finally, consider the control scheme. If you prefer tactile buttons and simple toggles, the ZOVIMAX is straightforward. If you enjoy voice commands and touch interfaces to manage complex tasks like AI translation, the sucegi E12 is the more versatile option. Both support Bluetooth 6.0, ensuring future-proof connectivity, but their core purposes diverge significantly based on these functional priorities.

After analyzing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally buy the ZOVIMAX Bone Conduction Headphones if my primary focus was active lifestyle safety and versatility in water. However, for the specific niche of for kids wireless usage where parents want durable, safe, and fun audio gear that can withstand rough handling and accidental drops in water, the ZOVIMAX is the clear winner. Its IPX8 rating and robust build ensure it survives the inevitable accidents that come with active children. On the other hand, if I were a traveler or a business person needing to document my day and communicate across language barriers, I would immediately choose the sucegi E12. Ultimately, the ZOVIMAX is the better choice for pure audio and sports durability, while the sucegi E12 is the superior tool for productivity and creativity.
