       As many of you know, I retired at Mar 31, 2016 from Faculty of Science, Yamaguchi University, Japan. but continued to maintain a laboratory for National Bio-resource Project Paramecium as a Professor Emeritus at Yamaguchi University and a Specially Designated Professor at Yamaguchi University till Mar 31, 2022. Thereafter, I am keeping my research activities as a Visiting Researcher of Research Center for Thermotolerant Microbial Resources, Yamaguchi University. Also, I am keeping live cultures of Paramecium caudatum syngens at 4°C in my home attic lab. 

(5) July 11, 2024. Our paper 'Mechanisms for the establishing primary and secondary endosymbiosis in Paramecium', published in Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology in 2022, was nominated as a Top Cited Article of this journal for 2022-2023.

(4) Jul 6, 2024 - Feb 30, 2025. Guest Editor, a special issue of Microorganisms (MDPI). "The Molecular Mechanisms for Infection and Phenotypic Changes of the Host in Procaryote–Eukaryote and Eukaryote-Eukaryote Endosymbioses".
