In most cases, the media plugin will offload the video encoding and decoding and communicates directly to the Zoom cloud, bypassing the VDI infrastructure. All other information is sent over the VDI channel. There are three options:

@jtkt if you have the Zoom VDI installed inside your citrix remote desktop and your company IT department accepts the vdi plugin for Linux, it should pick up automatically and allow you to use Zoom VDI. Without the plugin the Zoom VDI would not work at all. If this plugin is detected correctly it should show on Zoom VDI > Settings > Statistics > VDI tab inside remote desktop. I think they are different binaries. One is "Zoom client for VDI" which needs to be installed in the remote desktop VM, the other is "Zoom media plugin" which needs to be installed in the end point machine(e.g. thin client). Both are needed for an optimized Zoom experience.

Hi Stephen, is there zoom vmware media plugin available for chrome books. Also which version to install for chrome books that it will offload audio/video for Teams. right now the version which is available for chrome book does not offload audio video in teams.

I am using 10Zig thin client. The thin client has zoom plugin 5.12.0 installed on it. On my golden image I installed Zoom for VDI 5.12 . When I push them image out and test, Zoom does not see my microphone or camera. If I revert my snaphot to a previous image without zoom installed I can launch zoom meeting through browser and my microphone and camera work. It is terrible quality and unusable but at least it detects the mic/cam. Any ideas on this? 006ab0faaa
