Who am I?
My name is Zohreh Zahedi, I'm from Shiraz (Iran).
What is my background?
My background is in Information Science. I obtained both my Bachelor and Master degrees in Information Science with honor from Shiraz University in Iran and I obtained my PhD Degree from Leiden University, in the Netherlands.
What is my expertise?
My expertise is in Quantitative Studies of Science specializing in research metrics and indicators (i.e. Social media metric, bibliometrics indicators, & research evaluation).
What are my research interests?
My Research interests are Social Media metrics (altmetrics); Web-based scholarly communication; research evaluation; Webometrics & Scientometrics analysis; and Social Media Studies of Science. I'm also interested in Open Science and Open Access to research outputs, open research data and infrastructure, open metrics and public interest in science.
What do I do now?
Currently, I'm a visiting researcher and member of Quantitative Science Studies (QSS) research group at at Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) of Leiden University in the Netherlands and particularly contribute to the research line in Social Media Studies of Science. I'm also an invited honorary assistant Professor of Knowledge & Information Science at Persian Gulf University in Iran. I'm the chair of the Social Media Data Studies (SMDS) research group at PGU in which I collaborates with distinguished international researchers in the field.
What are my hobbies?
Biking, swimming, and cooking are my favorite hobbies.
I've diverse scientific, executive, professional, and advisory experiences gained from my diverse career path and different roles (as a university lecturer, head of department, researcher, project advisor, scientific and editorial board member) that I've performed so far. I'm highly motivated and very enthusiastic to learn new things and gain diverse experiences in my area of expertise and beyond. I've great perseverance in achieving my scientific and professional goals. I'm a great team player and feel highly responsible to perform the tasks that I'm responsible for. I enjoy my advisory role in helping others to grow by sharing my knowledge and experiences with them and leading and supervising their works to achieve success. I enjoy solving problems and tackling different challenges.
