Let's listen to the hidden melodies of Earth's heartbeats
Zohreh Abbasi
Hello and welcome to my website! I'm Zohreh (she/her), a PhD candidate at the Center for Earthquake Research and Information (CERI) at the University of Memphis, USA. My journey in geophysics began in Iran, where I delved into studying the focal mechanisms of seismic events, that occurred in the central Zagros Mountains, focusing on CLVD earthquakes. Seeking further education, I came to the USA and joined the esteemed CERI, working closely with Dr. Chris Cramer on ground motion and site amplification in the Mississippi Embayment. Additionally, my research involves investigating wave propagation in this region using empirical Green's functions (EGFs). I'm passionate about unraveling the complexities of seismic phenomena and am excited to share my journey with you here.
