The minimum cut-off marks for admission into tertiary institutions for the 2025/2026 academic session have been approved by key stakeholders, including heads of universities, polytechnics, and colleges.
Approved Scores Are as Follows:
• Universities: 150
• Polytechnics: 100
• Colleges of Education: 100
• Colleges of Nursing Sciences: 140
These scores serve as the benchmark for institutions to begin their admission processes, though individual schools may set higher cut-offs based on competition and program demand.
At the ongoing 2025 JAMB Policy Meeting, new guidelines have been released for candidates below the age of 16 who wish to be considered for admission this year.
Such candidates must meet strict academic and screening requirements to qualify for consideration:
Score at least 80% in UTME
Score at least 80% in Post-UTME (if applicable)
Score at least 80% in SSCE results
Pass a special examination to be conducted by the Federal Ministry of Education
For all other candidates, JAMB has reiterated that they must be 16 years of age on or before 13th September 2025 to be eligible for admission into any tertiary institution.
