Zoë Jasper   

 

At Jasper and Jasper, Attorneys at Law, Zoë has admissions in New York, New Jersey, Supreme Court of the United States, US Court of Appeals of the 2nd, 3rd, 11th Cir.’s, Federal Circuit, and Veterans Claims Circuit.


Zoë has broad experience in dispute resolution, including traditional civil litigation in state and federal courts, as well as private and alternative forums, such as arbitration and mediation.  She is a seasoned litigator, having represented institutional and individual clients.


Zoë has a background in nonprofit management, development and public contracting, which she applies to serve the legal needs of cultural, educational, and charitable institutions.  She regularly represents clients in social services, housing, museums, and faith-based charities and cultural institutions.


For over 10 years, she served as Director and Chair of the Board of Directors of Lutheran Social Services in New York, Inc., and as Chair of several of its related entities’ boards.  She continues to serve with a number of other advisory and governing bodies of private organizations and governmental offices, relating to human services, education and democratic participation.  She is co-founder of Juneteenth Griot Corporation.


Zoë has nine times been awarded the honorific “Empire State Counsel” in recognition of her outstanding contributions in providing legal services to indigent New Yorkers.  She was awarded  the Black Law Students Association’s Alumni Award at Brooklyn Law School.


Zoë holds a BA in Government from the University of Virginia where she was a Jerome Holland Scholar.  She graduated cum laude from Brooklyn Law School where she was an Edward V. Sparer Public Interest Law Fellow and two-time Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Scholar.


Zoë grew up attending the Brooklyn Botanic Children’s Garden Program, and she lives in walking distance from this cherished garden.
