The interns all learned to implement the following and completed these processes multiple times with precision over the course of the summer:
• Construct zebra mussel monitoring devices and cages used in the experimental program;
• Deploy and track devices and cages. This involved daily inspections of all of the devices and represented hundreds of hours of work;
• Collect phytoplankton samples using an accurate plankton towing method;
• Collect and analyze copper ion concentrations to parts per billions;
• Bio mass collection plates from ZM devices.
