Ziv Aharoni
Postdoctoral Associate
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at Duke University, working with Prof. Henry D. Pfister.
I completed my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, where I was part of the direct-track program. I was very fortunate to have Prof. Haim H. Permuter as my Ph.D. advisor.
I’m broadly interested in the intersection of information theory, statistics and reinforcement learning. My research focuses on developing methods to address information-theoretic problems using modern machine learning techniques. In particular, we developed a data-driven framework for estimating the capacity of channels with memory and for designing optimized coding schemes.
