Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 7, 2026
Ahmet Cenk Siviş ("Ziro," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, store, and safeguard information when you download, access, or use the Ziro mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App").
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should discontinue use of the App and delete it.
This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
Important Disclaimers
Ziro is a non-medical, educational, and self-help application designed to help you build awareness of the sugar in your food and how your choices may relate to how you feel.
• Ziro is not a healthcare service, medical device, diagnostic tool, therapy platform, nutritional counseling service, or treatment program.
• Ziro does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, including any eating disorder, metabolic, or digestive condition.
• Sugar and nutrition figures shown in the App are automated estimates and approximations and may be incomplete or inaccurate.
• Ziro measures the food you log; it does not measure your body's response. Insights describe your choices, not guaranteed health outcomes. Individual results vary.
• No doctor–patient, dietitian–client, or healthcare provider relationship is created through the App.
If you are concerned about your relationship with food, your eating patterns, or your health, please consult a qualified healthcare professional. If you are experiencing a crisis, contact your local emergency services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the data needed to deliver the App's functionality, personalization, advertising measurement, and improvements — or that you voluntarily provide.
1.1 Information You Provide
Account. Ziro creates an anonymous, device-based account for you automatically the first time you open the App. You do not need to register or log in, and your account is not tied to a name, email address, or phone number. Your account is identified only by a random, app-specific identifier.
Profile and onboarding information. During onboarding you may provide:
• Date of birth / age
• Gender
• Height, weight, and activity level
• Your goals and motivations (e.g., clearer skin, less bloating, steadier energy)
• Information about your sugar habits and preferences (e.g., how often you have sweets or sugary drinks, when cravings tend to hit)
Providing this information helps personalize the experience. Much of it is optional and can be skipped.
Meal photos and logs. When you scan a meal or barcode, you provide a photo of your food. You may also log foods, sugar amounts, and daily totals. This information is used to generate your in-App tracking, scores, insights, and missions. We do not independently verify the accuracy of your entries.
Support messages. If you write to us from inside the App (Settings → Get help or Send feedback), we receive the message you send, together with your App version, device model, operating system version, and language so that we can reproduce the issue you describe. An email address is required for a help request, so that we can reply to you, and optional when you send general feedback. We use an address you provide here only to respond to you, and for no other purpose.
Payment and subscription information. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and managed with RevenueCat. Payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment card number or payment credentials. We receive subscription status (e.g., active, expired) and a related identifier so we can unlock paid features.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device and technical information, such as device model and type, operating system version, App version, language, and crash or diagnostic data.
Usage and analytics data, such as which features and screens you use, session activity, your onboarding answers, and conversion events (for example, completing onboarding or subscribing). This data is processed through Mixpanel and is also stored in our own backend (Supabase) so we can measure and improve the App.
Advertising and measurement identifiers. To measure how people discover the App and how our marketing campaigns perform, we and our partners may process device and advertising identifiers (such as Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), where permitted), IP address, and information about the marketing campaigns that brought you to Ziro. On Apple devices, where required, we will request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before using these identifiers for tracking.
1.3 What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your name, contacts, microphone audio, precise geolocation, or Apple Health / HealthKit data. We do not ask for an email address to create or use your account; the only time we receive one is if you choose to give it when contacting support (see section 1.1).
2. How Meal Photos and AI Work
To estimate the nutrition in your meals, the photo you capture is securely uploaded to our cloud storage and sent to a third-party AI provider (fal.ai) that processes the image to identify foods and estimate sugar and other nutrition values. This processing exists solely to provide the scan result back to you.
Your meal photos are stored in a private, per-user location that is not publicly accessible. They are not sold, and they are not used for advertising.
3. Advertising and Marketing Measurement
Ziro does not display advertisements inside the App. We do advertise Ziro on other platforms, and we work with advertising and attribution partners (such as AppsFlyer) to measure which marketing channels bring people to Ziro and how our campaigns perform. For this measurement, these partners may process device and usage information and, where permitted, advertising identifiers.
We do not use your meal photos, body measurements, or other health-related entries to measure or target advertising. Advertising measurement is based on device and usage information, not on your sensitive health data.
Where required by law, we will obtain your consent before engaging in tracking (for example, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt). You can also limit ad tracking through your device settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
4. Sensitive Information
Some information you voluntarily enter — such as body measurements, goals, or details about your sugar habits — may be considered sensitive or health-related personal data in some jurisdictions.
We process such information only to:
• provide the tracking, scoring, insights, and personalization you request, and
• enable App functionality.
Sensitive information is never sold, never used for advertising or marketing profiling, and never shared with data brokers. You may delete your entries or your account at any time.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to:
• provide and maintain the App and your account
• generate your sugar tracking, scores, insights, and missions
• personalize the experience to your stated goals
• process subscriptions and unlock paid features
• measure advertising performance and attribute installs to marketing channels
• improve product performance, reliability, and features
• communicate with you about support requests or service updates
• detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security issues
• comply with legal obligations
6. How We Share and Disclose Information
We do not sell your personal information in the ordinary sense. However, like many apps, our use of advertising and analytics partners may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising under certain laws (such as the CCPA). You have the right to opt out — see Section 9.
We share information in the following circumstances.
6.1 Service Providers and Partners (Sub-Processors)
We share information with vendors that operate the App on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for authorized purposes:
• Supabase — Cloud hosting, database, file storage, and authentication
• fal.ai — AI image processing to estimate meal nutrition
• Mixpanel — Product analytics
• RevenueCat — Subscription management
• AppsFlyer — Advertising attribution and marketing-campaign measurement
• Apple — App distribution, in-app purchases, and notifications
6.2 Legal and Safety
We may disclose information to comply with law, a subpoena, or court order; to enforce our Terms of Service; to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or others; or to investigate suspected abuse or unlawful conduct.
6.3 Business Transfers
If Ziro is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor will be required to honor this Privacy Policy or provide notice of material changes.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure with per-user access rules. No system can guarantee absolute security; please protect your device and notify us of any suspected unauthorized access.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, support your account and history, process subscriptions, and meet legal obligations. When you delete your data or your account, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize the associated personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or to resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, or prevent fraud. We may retain aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You are in control of your data:
• Account deletion. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the App (Profile → Delete account).
• Permissions. You can grant or revoke Camera, Photo Library, and Notification permissions at any time in your device Settings.
• Advertising / tracking. You can decline tracking at the App Tracking Transparency prompt and limit ad tracking in your device Settings.
Depending on where you live — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the EU/UK GDPR, and similar laws — you may have rights to:
• access or obtain a copy of your personal information
• correct inaccurate information
• delete your personal information
• restrict or object to certain processing
• opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising
• limit the use of sensitive personal information
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
To make a request, contact us at hello@getziro.app. We may need to verify your request, and we will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
10. International Data Transfers
We are based in Türkiye, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required by law, international transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. By using the App, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence.
11. Children's Privacy
Ziro is intended for users 13 years of age or older (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you are under 18, you should use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have done so, we will take steps to delete it.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates may be communicated through the App or by posting an updated policy with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
