Included in this set are acrylic templates for the Zipper Overlay. The acrylic is 3mm in thickness, with a punch hole in each piece for easy hanging in your sewing room. The acrylic is engraved with pattern name and relevant cutting information about the pattern pieces, and the seam allowance is included in the template.

This is the Ultimate Zipper Template! It marks zippers from 6" to 11" wide and 1/2" high. Includes 1/4" markings and center mark. Triangular marks on the bottom for making perfect zipper corners! AND the rounded corners make it the perfect template for making zipper overlays in any size you need! Template is 5" x 12". This template is n/a in pearl colors or chunky glitters due to visibility.

Please Note: Style of Guide: Minimalist templates (where available) have zero engraving on them. You will need to make any necessary markings with a permanent marker once you receive the templates.

Sandwich your zipper right sides down to your outer cat piece and place the lining piece on top making sure pieces are right sides together. Pin into place and with your zipper foot attached to your machine, make sure your needle is all the way to the left. Sew as close to the zipper teeth as you can.

Yes, the interfacing goes on your Fabric A Pieces! We applied the zipper to the back pieces and then trimmed off our excess zipper ends. Once you have the back of your cat complete you can use it as a template to cut out your front cat face to make sure they are both the same size! Let me know if you have any more questions. Hi I'm new to leather working and im wanting to make a pair of shotgun chaps to show in but I want to put in the laced zipper, I'm not sure how to do a pattern for that can someone help me out with pattern and how the lace is attached and held secure. Sorry for ignorance I train horses, leather craft is new to me but I'm loving it. Thanks Shannan

Yes the shot gun chap pattern have the lace in zippers. I did get your order and will send them out the first of next week. We just shipped our cows to summer pasture today so hope to get more shop work done now. We also just got our computer back to working as well.

A template that does one thing is fine, but I wanted a template that does so much more. Which is why we kept adding to the Boxed Bag Template. In addition to cutting 90 degree boxed corners, it also cuts 45 degree darts. Again, using the teardrop shaped stops that work with your standard 45mm rotary cutter, you cut perfect darts every time.

And we kept going. We also added a curved corner so that you can easily cut curves on your placemats, bowl cozies, bags, and more. And there is a ruler that you can use to cut any zipper tabs or zipper pulls. This template has everything you need to make quick and simple 3D bags, pouches, and other projects.

Zipper tabs will make your zipper look neat, prevent pinched zipper ends, and make your sewing easier. First, shorten your zipper to 7 " (19 cm) length by snipping off the metal stoppers on each side.

BONUS HINT, if you are using regular foot: when sewing, you'll get to the zipper pull sooner or later. When you do, stop sewing and lift up the foot, keeping the needle down. Slide the zipper pull to an already sewn area. Return foot down into the sewing position and finish the seam.

Now let's attach the other zipper edge: place the other Outer piece on your table with the right side up. Cover it with the sewn piece with Outer facing down, align with the zipper tape edge. Then place the Lining piece facing down, aligned as well. Sew through all three layers.

Next, we'll topstitch the fabric along the zipper to prevent getting it caught by zipper teeth. Some say this is optional, but I ALWAYS do that. It makes the pouch so much prettier! This is how:

In 2015 I finally drafted a first template after sewing a lot of zipper pouches like the one in the photo. I used what I believe to be the most versatile size. Initially, it was a simple non-printable image published here at AppleGreen Cottage blog, then a one-sized pdf zipper pouch template, for years. And today, tadaa! Need an even wider pouch for extra-long pencils? No problem: just measure the longest colored pencils against the template and you'll see if you need to add an inch to the template. Feel free to adjust the pattern as you see fit. Just make sure the zipper is at least the same length as the fabric pieces.

Many ready-to-wear garments are designed with a traditional separate fly facing which can be either made from lining or, in lightweight fabrics, from the same fabric as the pants. Tailored pants usually have a regular dress zip. Jeans most often have a metal zipper and zipper shield.

If it is necessary to shorten a metal zip, do so by marking the desired length at the top of the zipper. Carefully remove the metal stops (pointy pliers are good for this) and pull the unwanted teeth away from the tape. When the required length is correct, replace the metal stops and pinch them firmly in place. ff782bc1db
