Zines in the Randolph High School Library!

Zines are a fun way for students to engage with their lessons and get creative! There is no right way to make a zine; students can draw, make collages, or just write out their thoughts on a topic. In recent years, zines have been a great product of project based learning. The history of zines date back to the 1930s, taking their name from "Fanzines," or "Fan Magazines." They grew in popularity during the counterculture movement of the 1950s and allowed creators to express points of view, including activism. Today, zines continue to be a popular art form. Libraries all over make an effort to collect zines to make them available to the public or student body.
