Zines are a great way for students to express their ideas and a good choice for project-based learning. They not only allow students to get creative, but they produce products that can be donated to the library for in-house use. Students can produce original artwork or use images from the public domain, magazines, or old books to create their zines.
Libraries, artists, and museums provide a wealth of information for creating zines. Many libraries, such as Harvard's Schlesinger Library and Barnard College, hold massive zine collections in their Special Collections. All of the resources below provide details on the creation and ongoing collection of zines.
