Thesis: Thermoelectric Transport Study of the Lithium-Based Zinc-Antimony System Using First-Principles Calculations
I conducted theoretical calculations on a newly discovered thermoelectric material (LiZnSb), using VASP and the Phonopy package for dynamic stability. I calculated the transport coefficients for both the cubic and hexagonal phases of LiZnSb, as well as its figure of merit. To accomplish this, I utilized the second- and third-order force constants in conjunction with the electronic band structure in the BoltzTraP package, which solved the Boltzmann transport equation for electrons, providing me with important transport coefficients such as the Seebeck coefficient (S), electrical conductivity (σ), and electronic component of thermal conductivity (k).
