Visiting Assistant Professor, Texas Christian University (2025–26)
I earned my Ph.D. in Accounting from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University in August 2025. In the 2025–2026 academic year, I am serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Neeley School of Business, Texas Christian University.
I use both analytical and archival methods to study topics in voluntary disclosure, corporate governance (e.g., cybersecurity, AI and data analytics), debt contracting, accounting standard setting, agency theory and auditing. A unifying theme in my research is understanding how internal and external control mechanisms shape corporate disclosure decisions (both voluntary and mandatory) through the lens of financial and managerial accounting.
My academic path has been interdisciplinary and international. I earned an M.S. in Economics from the University of Mannheim and a B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics in Economics from Renmin University of China. Before transitioning into accounting, I also pursued doctoral studies in economics at Rice, which broadened my theoretical and empirical perspective.
