I am a development economist, political economist, and economic historian, who combines theory and empirics to study topics related to cultural norms in policy intervention, nation-building, determinants of conflicts, and consequences of political connections. My current research has a regional focus on China, Ghana, Indonesia, and Pakistan.

I received my PhD from Cornell University in 2024. I spent one year and a half at Yale University as a visiting PhD student from 2022 to 2024. I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia in 2018. During my spare time, I enjoy reading martial arts literature written by Jin Yong and playing the Chinese harp.
