The first three classes portray a sorry history of eugenics in the first half of the twentieth century.Is that due mainly to the coercive methods used in its implementation or was it primarily due to a problem inherent in the concept itself?
If the latter, was the defect mostly due to bad bioscience or bad social science/philosophy?
Would eugenics as an idea have fared better in the mind of the public if its proponents had urged only positive eugenics and avoided any support for negative eugenics?
