Ziad Ghandour is an Economist with the Enterprise Analysis Unit at The World Bank where he works on firm-level survey implementation projects and analytical research. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Catholic University of Portugal within Lisbon's Business and Economics Research Unit. Before that, he had a one-year professional internship at the Portuguese Competition Authority (Autoridade da Concorrência, AdC) in the Department of Studies and Market Monitoring Bureau.
Ziad has a Ph.D. in Economics, University of Minho, Portugal; M.A. in Economics, American University of Beirut; B.A. in Economics, Lebanese American University.
Ziad specializes in theoretical Industrial Organization (IO), focusing on quality competition in regulated markets, public-private ownership in healthcare and education provision, and policies to overcome imperfect competition.
