Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Toolbox App ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related features.

The app is designed to help users measure environmental noise, view real-time sound levels and waveforms, keep local detection history, replay recordings, export records, share content, and optionally use advertising-supported or subscription-based features.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information depending on how you use the app:

• Audio and microphone data. If you grant microphone permission, the app accesses audio input to measure sound levels, generate waveforms, and support replay or export features.

• Detection records. This may include timestamps, average and peak sound levels, waveform summaries, scene labels, replay history, and related metadata.

• Files you choose to export or share. When you export recordings or share content, the app may prepare audio files, summary cards, waveform images, or related metadata for that action.

• Device and app information. This may include device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, crash data, and technical diagnostics.

• Subscription and purchase status. If you subscribe to VIP features, we may process purchase status, entitlement status, and renewal-related information through the applicable app store.

• Advertising-related data. If the free version of the app displays ads, advertising partners may collect device identifiers, approximate location signals, ad interaction data, or similar data as permitted by law and platform rules.

• Support and contact information. If you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, and any information you include in your message.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate and improve the app, including to:

• measure noise levels and generate real-time audio visualizations;

• save and display your detection history;

• support replay, export, email sending, local network transfer, and sharing features;

• provide VIP features such as advanced export options and ad-free use;

• maintain app security, detect bugs, and troubleshoot technical issues;

• analyze feature usage and improve performance and product design;

• serve and manage advertisements in the free version of the app, where applicable;

• comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Microphone and Audio Processing

The app requires microphone access to measure environmental sound. Without microphone permission, core detection features will not function.

Audio collected through the microphone is used to calculate sound levels, generate waveform displays, and support replay or export functions selected by you. Depending on the implementation you choose for the final product, audio may be processed locally on the device and stored locally unless you actively export or share it.

Local Storage and History

Detection history, waveform summaries, replay data, and audio files may be stored locally on your device so the app can display your history and support playback and export features.

Unless a cloud sync or account system is added in a future version, your detection history is intended to remain on your device except when you choose to export, email, share, back up, or otherwise transmit it.

Exports, Email, Local Network Transfer, and Sharing

The app may allow you to export records to a computer over the same Wi-Fi network, send records by email, or share content through social media or other third-party apps.

• If you use local network export, the app may temporarily create a local network transfer session so another device on the same network can access files you choose to export.

• If you use email or social sharing, the selected content will be transferred to the relevant email client, operating system share sheet, or third-party platform you choose.

• Once information is shared with a third party, that third party's own privacy policy and terms will apply.

Advertising and VIP Features

The app may offer a free version supported by advertising and a VIP version that removes ads and unlocks certain premium features.

• The free version may display splash ads, banner ads, or interstitial ads.

• The VIP version may remove some or all in-app advertising.

• Advertising networks or monetization providers may collect information according to their own privacy policies, subject to applicable consent requirements.

Legal Bases and Consent

Where required by applicable law, we rely on one or more legal bases for processing personal information, including your consent, performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests, and compliance with legal obligations.

For example, we rely on your permission and consent to access your microphone, and we may rely on legitimate interests to maintain app security and improve performance. In some regions, separate consent may be required for personalized advertising or tracking.

How We Share Information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

• with service providers who help us operate the app, process subscriptions, provide analytics, or serve advertising;

• with email clients, sharing destinations, or local network recipients when you intentionally use export or sharing features;

• with app store operators for subscription verification and purchase processing;

• when required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request;

• to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent fraud or abuse;

• in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the app and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

• Locally stored history and recordings may remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.

• Technical logs, diagnostic data, or support messages may be retained for a reasonable period to resolve issues and maintain service quality.

• Subscription and transaction records may be retained as required for financial, tax, legal, or audit purposes.

Your Choices and Controls

You may have the following choices, depending on your device, platform, and region:

• grant or deny microphone permission through your device settings;

• delete local recordings and detection history within the app or by uninstalling the app;

• control ad tracking or personalized advertising through operating system or platform settings;

• manage subscriptions through the relevant app store account;

• request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information where required by law.

Children's Privacy

The app is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to provide valid consent on their own. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

International Data Transfers

If we or our service providers process information outside your country or region, that information may be transferred to jurisdictions with different data protection laws. Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Services

The app may rely on third-party services such as app stores, analytics providers, ad networks, email clients, operating system sharing tools, or social media platforms. Those third parties may collect or process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, through the app store listing, or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the app after an updated policy becomes effective means the updated policy will apply, subject to applicable law.
