We synthesize layered crystals by chemical vapor transport and flux method. We are particularly interested in systems where symmetry, order, and interactions can be clearly defined. We work with crystals whose structure supports well-defined point groups, magnetic configurations, and collective modes, allowing a minimal yet sufficient low-energy Hamiltonian to be written.
