Dr. Cui is an accomplished dental scientist and cancer biologist. He received research training under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Grandis and Dr. Daniel Johnson at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Zhibin was awarded a three-year TRDRP postdoctoral fellowship, after which he was promoted to Assistant Professor at the Department of OHNS at UCSF. He later moved to SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. His research centers on the genetics of head and neck cancer and cancer immunity, specializing in the functional implications of frequently mutated genes in tumor growth and treatment resistance. His work aims to unravel the intricate interactions between genetic mutations and the tumor immune microenvironment, particularly regarding resistance to chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
