Secure and Intelligent Distributed Computing (SIDC) Lab
Zhen Zeng, Ph.D., Computer Science
Welcome!
Zhen Zeng, Ph.D. has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) since 2023. She leads the Secure and Intelligent Distributed Computing Lab (SIDC Lab) at UWM. She received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University, under the supervision of Dr. Guoliang Xue and Dr. Dijiang Huang. Before joining UWM, she gained valuable industry experience in the high-tech sector, focusing on power management and cloud native technologies.
Dr. Zeng’s general research interest lies in compound AI systems, especially for secure, reliable, and high-performance AI service applications that can be deployed across cloud, edge, and on-premises environments. Her current research projects include advancing AI-assisted threat intelligence and AI-powered cyber-physical systems (CPS). Equally committed to education, she works on cybersecurity and AI education for both professionals and the broader workforce. Her recent research project focuses on AI in manufacturing in close collaboration with industry partners.
