PhD Position in Psychology at City University of Hong Kong
City University of Hong Kong (CityU is currently the top 55 in the world) is inviting you for PhD fellowship applications in social and cognitive psychology at the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The social neuroscience lab focuses on human decision-making and social reasoning with fMRI and EEG.
Preferred qualifications are:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related fields. A relevant Master’s degree will be an advantage
2. Previous experience with design and/or performance of studies in cognitive psychology and/or cognitive neuroscience
3. Experience in conducting behavioral/EEG/fMRI experiments or data analysis with computational methods
4. Strong motivation towards research and interest in multidisciplinary research
5. Good knowledge of English language, both spoken and written.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
English proficiency requirements:
a minimum TOEFL* score of 88 (Internet-based test), with a minimum of 21 for Reading, 21 for Listening, 25 for Writing, and 21 for Speaking; or
a minimum IELTS 6.5 for overall band score and for the sub-categories of Writing, Speaking, Listening and Reading.
* TOEFL Paper-based test (before October 2017) and Paper-delivered test (after October 2017) will not be accepted as there is no Speaking component.
For applicants applying for admission to the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, a research proposal/statement with clear objectives and proposed methodology is required.
nominate two academic referees who can comment on your academic performances (proposed supervisor and persons from non-academic circles are normally not acceptable as academic referees).
