Hi I'm Zhengxi (Woody) Jin, a doctoral student at King's College London, supervised by Prof. David Papineau and Dr. James Stazicker. I hold a BA in Philosophy from Lingnan University in Hong Kong. You can find my CV here.
I'm interested in how minds make sense of the world—how they form concepts, learn from experience, and represent surrounding things. My research brings together philosophy of mind, cognitive science, and neuroscience to better understand these questions. Lately, I’ve been thinking about how bounded, practical minds can come to represent the world "objectively", and how attention and learning interact in shaping such objective representations. I'm also interested in understanding mental disorders by thinking of them as the breakdowns of otherwise good cognitive designs.
