When I’m not doing research or teaching, I like to spend time outdoors, swimming long distances, running, and orienteering. I’m a huge fan of orienteering and love the mix of physical challenge and mental focus it brings.😀
I now swim using all four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. My best time for a half-marathon is about 1 hour and 28 minutes, and I’m hoping to keep improving.😆
I have been active in orienteering since high school, when I won first place in the Beijing High School Orienteering Championship. During my undergraduate years, I became the champion of the Beijing Orienteering Championships (Men’s All Items, M21 elite) and later won the Chinese National Orienteering Championship (Class M21). I also placed 9th in the Chinese National Elite Championship and 11th in the Asian Orienteering Championships (Sprint, M21). 😎
I am currently a member of Orienteering USA (OUSA) and participate in events through the Empire Orienteering Club (EMPO) and the Western Connecticut Orienteering Club (WCOC). I hope to continue improving my performance and one day compete in the World Orienteering Championships (WOC).🏃♂️
