Zhari Malig is a Psychology Major and Education minor student at Dominican University of California (located in San Rafael). Drawn to psychology due to their own personal struggles with mental health, and education due to their desire to encourage students to have fun with learning, they hope to work as a school counselor. They have previous experience working with children: working at children's play places and as a camp counselor, they are used to interacting with children ages 4-12. Currently, they are a Social Services Assistant at Pacifica Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Raised in Daly City, CA as the eldest of three, Zhari has always had experience working with kids- namely, their younger siblings. They've always taken great joy in tutoring their younger siblings and playing teacher with their younger family members. In high school, this desire to work with children manifested as volunteering as a reading tutor for children struggling in school; namely due to struggles with dyslexia or neurodivergency. After gaining experience working with neurodivergent individuals, and experience with a lot of paperwork as an Administrative Assistant at The Wiseman Group Interior Design.
Now, as a social worker, Zhari works as a Guardian Angel in the mornings before doing IDT forms, discharges, NOMNCs, and more!
