Coaching Résumé

Big Z has played over 5,000 games of KeyForge and has dedicated quite a bit of time learning the ends and outs of many of the finer aspects of KeyForge from the first set to the most current. He has attended more vault tours than any other player in the world, he has gone 6-0 on three separate day one vault events, he has come in 2nd, 3rd, and 5th, along with earning his place in a top cut 7 times at vault events. Big Z is the Vault Leaderboard 2019 and 2020 #1 ranked player in the world.

Big Z has helped coach, train, and guide the practice of five different vault winners to seven different vault wins.

Full Coaching Package

Coaching package includes:

1. Analyzing, rating, and categorizing the top 50 - 100 decks of someone's collection in decksofkeyforge.com.

2. Identifying 2-3 best decks for archon, adaptive and reversal.

3. Picking what to run Survival and Triad.

4. Running a 5 deck round robin from their list while in voice chat.

Each match in the round robin is best of 3 where each game you swap decks until 1 deck has 2 wins that way we can have discourse about play differences.

Believe it or not – I even won some of them, I can definitely recommend reaching out to Z to get a better overview about your collection and get some hints to improve your gameplay or analyze decks. I am a serious / casual Keyforger, and like many, my deck collection has grown to a few hundred decks across the 5 sets.

Whilst SAS ratings are a fantastic tool, spotting the best decks (likely over/under performers) from that is a challenge, especially as I am a little time poor. I also wanted to understand some of the key strategies to make these deck winners more often. I turned to Z for some advice and guidance.

Z analysed my deck list, grading the decks and together we agreed on a shortlist of high performing decks. He then guided me through a round robin set of games set up on Challonge, to play these decks against each other, and begin to understand them at a deeper level. We came out with a set of results, match-up considerations, and feelings about each of the short-listed decks. This analysis did indeed produce the odd surprise and new insights, so was very well worth doing.

So what can I say about Z & the process?

Well firstly Z was incredibly supportive in understanding my Keyforge knowledge level & gaps, I always felt like I was treated as a very important part of the Keyforge community, even when my gameplay let me (or one of my decks) down. He was always to the point yet very encouraging.

I learned a lot about each of the decks, and we discussed tactics in gameplay along the way, I felt that his insights were real, valuable and came from his deep experience testing & playing decks, so that was hugely valuable for me as a player. At various times these felt like mini coaching sessions.

I cannot recommend Z highly enough in terms of the value he brought to understanding my best decks, play tips, and general insights into aspects of the game.

Oh and if your ego is of any importance, then I can now say I have beaten one of the world’s best Keyforge players at Keyforge!
