LGBTQIA+ Catalog Size and Most Popular Titles for June 2024-2025

The company is a global leading streaming guide that helps you find where to stream any new and popular titles on various platforms.

As part of my Data Analyst role, I created the lists and graphics which are then used to leverage journalists to use and write about our data.

The primary goal was to find the streaming providers with the biggest catalog for LGBT+ titles using our database. The 2nd point was to add the most popular titles for movies and TV shows as supplementary data for journalists to be interested in.

• Hex.tech - Data collection from custom report from Business Intelligence

• R - Used to filter, sort, summarize data

• Google Spreadsheets - Keeps a static copy of the data for storage purposes.

• Google Slides - For final visualization and presentation of findings

For this data set, we had data from a Hex report. 

1. I collected the data from Hex.tech

2. Cleaned up, filtered, summarized and sorted data in R, where I also created individual CSVs to upload into Google Sheets.

   • Code can be reviewed on Github or Kaggle.

3. Uploaded csv files into Google Sheets for sharing with the team

4. Created the final bar charts on Google Sheets to showcase how much each streaming provider over the total catalog.

5. Finalized Graphics on Google Slides where graphics can then be exported into JPEGS, or PNGs
